My First Craft Show!

It feels like I've spent every spare waking minute in the last week preparing for this day...and while, I tried not to get my hopes up, the weather and the turn out for my first craft show in Galway today left much to be desired. Ginger, and a few other friends turned out to support me, but even my supporters were fewer in numbers than I'd hoped. It's Mother's day weekend and alot of other events around neighboring communities probably effected the lack of people arriving, as well as all the chilly rain. I guess at least now I won't have as much work to catch myself up in replenishing inventory for May 22nd's Festival of Windmills Craft Fair in Amsterdam with Ginger! Here are some photos of how my table looked all set up!

  1. Tabitha I wouldn't feel bad if I were you as it was a horrible weekend for a number of reasons. Yes, Mother's day, Tulip Festival that I wanted to go to and didn't, Canal Fest in Waterford, (didn't go there either). Too much to do and a cold wet rainy atmosphere were all against you. Your things are beautiful. Don't be discouraged.

  2. Tabitha,
Don't be discouraged! Peggy's comments were right on the nose! Holiday weekends are the worst - spring craft fairs in general are touch-and-go.
Next time were together (or feel free to call me)ask me about craft fairs - I spent over 10 years traveling around the east coast doing craft fairs small and very large ones; inside and outdoor fairs (rain and wind. I really have a lot of experience with them. We traveled from from Maine to Maryland! My business partner and I did at least two craft fairs a month - year-round. So I might be able to give you a few pointers.

Your products are wonderful and don't judge all craft fairs by this one.
