Here's a little peek into my cigar box. I combined the optometrist lens with the paper covered stencil to create a layered embellishment.

Mystery Mission Components in Progress

"O" chipboard stencil was covered with french book page and canceled stamp, inked and embellished with distress stickles.
Quill pen was created from cut out from Graphic 45 paper sheet and an antique pen knib glued to chipboard and cut out. Fibers were wrapped around the seam between the real knib and the paper pen and the pen was embellished with distress stickles.
Puzzle pieces were covered with decorative napkins and cut out and embellished with assorted stickles.
Optometrist lens was backed with a floral postage stamp and french book paper. Playing card image was adhered to the front.
Back of bakelite playing piece was stamped with crown in brown Staz-on Ink and embellished with stickles.
Back side of antique domino was brushed with gold embossing ink to get the design to pop.
Bottle cap was filled with cancelled stamp, rosette bead, spring and CTMH liquid glass.
Last night I finally tackled the Mystery Mission. It was imperative that I began and made real progress before school starts next week or it would not get done. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning altering the various components to be put into the cigar box and playing with arrangment within. Today I completed the box--whoohoo! You will have to wait to see the final results after the September 26th Exhibition and Exchange of the Mystery Mission projects. Until then, I will follow Ginger's lead and post "teaser" photos of completed sections of the box. All my components above were photographed while the liquid glass and stickles were still wet.
